What We Believe

We believe the Bible, which is God’s inerrant, inspired word. It is literally true, including the creation account in Genesis and the supernatural miracles performed by Jesus. The holy Scriptures (the Bible) is our only rule for matters of faith and practice.

We believe in God the Father. We believe in Jesus Christ, his son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus, the Son of God, is fully human and fully divine.

After God created the world, the first man, Adam, sinned and fell into a state of sin and misery, bringing death into the world. Sin is the transgression of God’s law, and is punishable by not only natural death but also spiritual death and everlasting pain in hell. Man is utterly unable to save himself from this condition. God sent his son to become a man, Jesus, who lived a sinless life. Jesus gave up his life by the suffering of the crucifixion, vicariously dying for us to propitiate God’s wrath against our sin.

Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead, having not only accomplished the satisfaction of the punishment we deserved for our sin, but also reconciled us to God, giving us the promise of eternal life. Jesus Christ saves all those who trust in him by faith and grants them repentance to turn from sin and serve God in newness of life. We believe that salvation from sin is by grace alone, by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, to the glory of God alone.

We believe in a literal second coming of Christ to the earth.
